Darius and Calista followed Krystal out of the jet as Gambit went back in to get Magneto. Neither had spoken a word for the rest of the journey. Calista sighed, she wanted to ask Darius if he was angry with her but now found that she lacked the courage to do so. She thought she had made it clear that she was glad to be let off from the date, but she could not read Darius's mind-so she had no idea what he was thinking. All she knew was that could feel a wide gulf between them now-almost as if they had become strangers to one another.
Darius sighed inwardly, still trying to come to grips with the events that had happened as well as what Calista had told them. He had nearly lost her twice that day, once when his clone tried to strangle her and the second when he had just about drained her life from her. He knew that if she had died, he would have been to blame-perhaps not directly but his clone was around because of him. Then there had been that incident that Calista had mentioned with Shawn and his deal. He pondered over her words for the remainder of their flight and found her explanations were logical enough (as logical as they could be when time travelling occurs), and he was glad that the deal was off-so he decided to put that from his mind. Now what he wanted to know was where things stood between them. Yes, they were close, but he had never told her that he loved her and now he wondered if that in itself was a mistake. He sighed to himself again. He knew that he needed to talk to Calista alone, though now was not the time or place for it. They had to get Jack to the Professor so that hopefully he could free their friends.
