Darius and Calista nodded at Ben's question. They wanted to get back to the others as soon as possible. Calista then offered Krystal a gentle smile. "Everything will be fine now," she told her gently, hoping to make her feel better.

Calista and Darius followed Ben, both feeling the tension that seemed to hang between Krystal and themselves. Darius sighed and finally turned back to Krystal. "Listen, sorry and I snapped at you earlier-but I could not let you go back there." he told her.

"It's fine," Darius replied to Krystal with a slight smile. "The main thing is that you are okay." he added. "Don't worry about it," Calista replied to Krystal afterwards, not wanting the girl to be so upset over what happened. "No one got hurt-we are all heading back in one piece." she added with a slight smile. "It's just good having you back," she mentioned after a moment’s pause, forgetting once again that only she remembered Krystal dying.

Darius and Calista halted as well and turned to face Krystal, shock written on both of their faces. "Krystal- everything that happened was not of your doing," Calista replied. "I agree with Ben. You are a part of the team-and our friend. You can't just leave us." "And how will your leaving end the problems?" Darius asked her. "If anything we will end up just worrying what happened to you-which will probably cause more problems." He sighed then. "Things happen Krystal, but when trials come we will be stronger if we deal with them together.”

"Well, I wouldn't say necessarily say kill, Krystal." Calista replied with a sigh-knowing that trying to convince Krystal of something was almost like talking to a stone wall. "And do you think you are the only one who causes trouble?" she asked her. "I've caused my own share of problems as well." she remarked. Darius exhaled sharply, growing frustrated again. "Krystal-if we wanted to kill you, do you think we would have chased after you?" he asked her. "Trust me, I think most of us have caused our own share of headaches for the others." he added.

"Krystal, no one has a problem free life...and since we are mutants we will probably end with more problems than most." Calista added. "We just have to deal with it as it comes along." "Ben and Calista are right." Darius added. "Sometimes things happen we have no control over-and our best intentions end up going awry. Krystal, not all problems began with you-though it may be easier for you to remember the ones that did-you have to know that is not true."

Calista and Darius exchanged a glance before following after the others, both hoping that Ben was not secretly blaming himself for this. "Relax, Krystal." Calista told her softly. "No one is blaming you-you are doing that yourself. Nor can anyone convince you to stop beating yourself up over it. Only you can do that. Don't let the past control you." Darius merely nodded as he walked with both Calista and Krystal. "Cheer up, Krystal." he told her, giving her a gentle smile. "Everything will work out. Things happen, mistakes are made. The best thing is for us to just learn from them and move on. If we hold on to them-it only makes things worse."

"Sorry." Calista replied to Gambit as they arrived. "We...umm...went in further than expected..." she said, not feeling it right to mention how the three of them were trying to stop Krystal from leaving the X-Men. "Looks as if you handled things well enough," Darius remarked, noting that Jack and the mind-controlled mutants were tied up. "We set to go then?" he asked.

"Shawn, wait." Calista told him as he picked up a weapon and turned to go. "Thank you...for everything." she said softly. "Trust me, I won't forget what you have done." she added giving him a grateful smile. Darius watched the two talk. He could sense that the two shared a bond of some sort, though he could not figure out what it was. Pushing it to the back of his mind, he decided to ask her about it later.

"No. I guess not," Calista replied to Gambit as she watched Shawn start to walk away. Good luck and take care, Shawn. she thought to herself before looking at back at Gambit. "He is probably too much of a wanderer to enjoy staying in one place for long-though something tells me this probably won't be the last we have seen of him." She then glanced back at Krystal who was sitting down and leaning against a tree. Well, at least she did not run off. Calista thought in relief, taking Shawn's suggestion to keep an on her to heart. Though watching her will probably be a fulltime job. "Think the twins are coming with us?" she asked Gambit. Darius walked up to Calista and Gambit then. "So what was that about?" he asked her. Calista sighed for a moment, wondering how to explain it without sounding like she had completely gone crazy. "I'll tell you afterwards." she replied. Darius studied her for a brief moment before slowly nodding his acceptance. He then glanced back at Ben to see how Ben was doing with the jet.

Darius dragged Magneto into the jet as Calista walked over to Krystal. "Come on. We only have 5 minutes. Let's go." she told her, hoping that the girl would not argue with her again.

Calista followed Krystal into the jet. She and Darius each found a seat and quickly buckled in as Gambit started the jet up. Neither said a word as they waited for take off.

"Well, we should get there in time." Calista finally remarked quietly to break the silence that hung about them. "It would not be much fun if we didn't." Darius replied with a slight smirk. Calista gave him a wry smile as she shook her head. "Don't even go there." she added. "Hey, you brought it up." he added with a grin. Calista shook her head slightly, an amused gleam in her eyes. "Well, I can hardly wait to get back to the Professor," she said quietly. "And get our friends freed." Darius only nodded as the two fell silent again.

Calista sighed. Time had been a blur to her after the event happened. What seemed like years, she knew was probably only a few moments. "More than likely it was about half an hour, perhaps an hour tops...though it seemed far longer." she told Krystal. She did not really want to relive the past events again, but she figured that the others had a right to know. "Anything else you want to know?" she asked the group.

"As it turned out, he was searching for us. He was by the old mansion when we ran into him as a group." Calista sighed as she glanced back at the others. "This does not make any sense does it?" she asked, already hating the fact that she was the only one who remembered. After a moment of silence, Darius then turned to her. "Why was he searching for us?" Calista sighed again, it was the question that she expected, but one that she had been dreading. "He wanted to make a deal." "What kind of deal?" Darius asked, growing a bit suspicious. "Well, he said that normally he wants money-and a lot of it. But this time, he settled for a date." "And?" Calista sighed. "It was going to be me." "What?!" Calista cringed inwardly as Darius stared at her. "Darius, please don't be angry, I volunteered. I thought it was the only way to save Krystal." Darius sighed. He loathed the idea of Calista going on a date with another man, and knew that if he ever met Shawn again, he would personally tear him apart. Yet, though he was upset by it, he could understand why she did such a thing. A date was a cheap price to save a life. "So when is this date going to be?" he asked her a bit bitterly. "It's not happening." Calista replied. "Shawn called it off at the last moment." "He did?" Darius asked, incredulous. "Why?" "I don't know, he did not say-though it was a mercy that I did not expect." she told him with a slight smile, the relief evident in her voice. It was not that she disliked Shawn after all he had just proven himself to be a good man, but she had already given her heart to Darius. She had grown to love him deeply and yet she found herself unable to say it. Why? she wondered. Why am I so afraid? Is it because those I have cared for in the past have come to disaster? That if I don't admit it, it will not be real to me? Darius and Calista fell silent then as both stared straight ahead, the mansion was near, and it was here that they hoped that the Professor could free their friends.
