Darius's clone kicked Dan off of him and then swiftly shot an energy beam at him before starting to drain him.

Austin was sitting far enough away to only have to watch the fight. Melody and Storm were standing nearby. "So, I can't really make you both do anything, can I?" Austin asked, deciding to stand up and work to instruct Melody to do something, from being a little less intimidating. "Go, um, do whatever you do." Austin pointed in the general direction of the fight and waited a few seconds for Melody to do something. Irritated with her remainly motionless, Austin sat back down, arms crossed, "Stupid Jack. Get's all of the fun with zombies. All I get to do is babysit."

Darius’s clone knocked the girl off of him and then flew in the air to avoid the full explosion of the card though its energy blew him back, throwing him off balance. __________________________________________________________________________ As they drew nearer to the sounds of the fighting, Calista and Darius readied themselves to attack. Suddenly Calista gasped as she saw Krystal on the ground unconscious, another girl and another boy whom she did not know fighting the clone. Darius gritted his teeth in anger and was about to attack his clone when Calista put a hand on his arm to stop him. "Go to Krystal, she needs you now.” "What of you?" he asked. "I'm going to help them stop him." she said as she flew in the air and tackled Darius's clone, seeing that Gambit’s attack had thrown him off balance. "Calista, don't!" he cried, though she paid no heed to him. With that she summoned her energy wave and struck out at the clone with all of her might, sending the clone to his knees. "Darius, go!" she commanded as the clone lunged up at her and she barely dodged his assault, surprised that he could withstand her attack. Of course, she realized suddenly. He had already drained a lot of energy from Krystal and some from this boy. He is stronger now than before. Darius quickly hurried to Krystal's side. “Hold on, Krystal” he whispered as he placed his hand on the wound, draining himself and passing his energy to her to heal her wound.

Darius turned to face the girl. "I'm the only one here that can save her," he told her, his voice strained from using his power against himself. With that he turned his attention back to Krystal, not sure if the girl would believe him or not. ___________________________________________________ Calista turned suddenly as she heard the girl's words as she hovered in the air. "No don't! He's trying to help her!" she cried, turning her attention from the battle. An evil grin spread across the clone's lips as he flew in the sky and slammed her into the ground below, his hand tightening around her throat as he held her pinned, his only desire now was to snuff the life out of the girl below him, his hatred for her blinding him. Calista struggled to break his grip, still partially stunned from the impact from her fall, and found much to her dismay that she was now too weak to break free from his deathgrip. Darius glanced up suddenly, feeling his breath catch in his throat at the scene before him. "Calista!" he cried in horror, wanting to rush to her side, yet knowing that he could not abandon Krystal to her fate. Focusing as much of the power he had left, he shot a dark energy beam at his clone while he still continued to heal Krystal, praying that if nothing else it would turn the clone's anger away from Calista. The clone easily deflected Darius' beam with his own, an evil gleam in his eyes as he turned to face him. "So this is the power of the great Destroyer." he mocked. "How pathetic." he taunted, ready now to attack him and Krystal.

The clone cried out in pain as Dan broke his nose. Extremely angry now, he looked at the boy with utter disdain as he shot out a dark energy beam at him. __________________________________________________________________________ "He is a clone of me created by another mutant" Darius told her wearily as he still continued to heal Krystal. "Consider him my darker half. He has all my powers, and the desire to kill." __________________________________________________________________________ Calista gasped for air as Gambit picked her up. Her body screamed in utter agony, but she had no desire to leave the battlefield, nor did she want Gambit to waste his time on her. "I'll be alright," she managed to say in between gasps. "Forget about me. Go help him," she said referring to Dan.

The clone flew backwards from the blast. Groaning, he pushed himself to his feet. He could feel himself growing exhausted. Reaching out he now began to drain some of the energy from Tess. __________________________________________________________________________ Darius glanced down at Krystal, concern in his eyes. "Krystal, it's okay. It's me," he told her gently. "You are going to be fine," he added as he continued to pour his energy into her. __________________________________________________________________________ "I'll be fine. We have to go back." she said as she tried to rise only to fall to her knees again as a wave of pain shot through her. "Those other two will only get themselves killed against the clone," she said remembering how the clone had nearly choked the life from her body after he slammed her into the earth. "He has already nearly killed Krystal, and even Darius..." she whispered feeling her breath catch as she forced the words out. "Darius is not his match now," she said feeling tears come to her eyes, knowing that he had probably weakened himself to a great extent in his attempt to save Krystal. "We have to go back to help them!" she cried trying to push herself to her feet again. I can't lose him. Calista thought to herself, her thoughts dwelling on Darius. I just can't.

The force of the explosion blew the clone back some distance as rocks flew up in the air, cutting into his skin. The clone growled in pure anger, as he turned to face any who challenged him now. __________________________________________________________________________ Darius glanced down at Krystal and then at Tess, not sure what to do now. He could feel hate for his clone filling him, knowing that if any died, it would be his fault. If he had hadn't been so careless, the clone would not even be in existence and this whole disaster could be avoided. Darius then gently carried Krystal off to the side where she would be out of the cross fire that was bound to come. Then he turned to face his clone. "I'll stop you," he told him quietly, his voice filled with anger. __________________________________________________________________________ Calista watched as Gambit ran off it aid the others and sighed. She felt so useless. Drawing her legs up to her, she rested chin on her knees. How could she relax when others were in danger? Sighing once more, she remained seated for a some moments more when she finally made up her mind. She was going back to the fight. She knew that Gambit would probably kill her for this, but she could sit around no longer. Gingerly rising to her feet, she slowly made her way back to battleground.

Darius turned to girl beside him. "Go find the boy you were with and get out of here now." he told her. "I don't want to see anyone else hurt." he said as he stepped forward, eyeing his clone. "Are we just going to stand here all night. I'm bored." he said as she shot a dark energy beam at Darius. Not even trying to deflect it, he dodge the beam and shot one of his own at the clone. The clone dodged his blast as well, a smirk on his face as he readied himself for the second round. __________________________________________________________________________ Calista smiled a greeting at Krystal and then motioned her to be quiet. The last thing she needed was someone to spot her.

Darius nodded at Gambit and then turned his attention back to his clone. The clone just smirked, enjoying the challenge of taking on two X-Men. With that he shot a dark energy beam at both of them. Darius quickly evaded the attack and then struck back with his draining ability, taking some of the clone's strength. The clone grimaced slightly and then turned to Darius unperturbed as he too began to use his draining ability on him. __________________________________________________________________________ Calista crawled silently to Krystal to avoid detection. "I'm trying to find an opening to strike the clone," she whispered. "Please, just stay quiet. I don't want them to know I'm here," she said as she gingerly walked away, her body still in pain from her fall.

The clone managed to evade a direct hit, though the force of the blast blew him back and sent rocks cutting into his flesh. The clone groaned in pain as he sank to his knees, hate filling his eyes as Darius continued to drain him. Calista turned at Krystal's warning, as did Darius. "Calista! Get back!" he called to her, turning away from the clone. An evil grin swept across the clone's face as he shot a dark beam at Darius, sending him flying into the rubble. "Darius, no!" Calista cried in horror. With hate-filled eyes she flew into the air and blasted the clone with an energy wave, causing him to fall to the ground. Despite the pain that shot from her body, she charged at the clone and hit him hard across the face, her nails drawing blood. The clone grimaced slightly before he kicked her in the stomach, the force of his blow sending her backwards. Calista winced in pain as she fell to the ground and painfully rose to her feet again as she flew into the air. With that she sent a stronger wave of energy at the clone, causing him to cry out in pain as he fell to his knees. "You animal," she uttered as she kept up the attack. The clone winced in pain as he gazed up the woman in utter hate. He could feel himself starting to weaken. Looking up at Calista with hate-filled eyes he rapidly began to drain her. Calista crashed to the ground and tried to rise on her hands, but found even the slightest movement to be taxing as the strength drained from her body. The clone rose to his feet as he absorbed her energy, his eyes dark and cold as he glanced down at her, continuing to drain her life from her. Calista glanced up at him, as she struggled to remain concious. Finding it difficult now even to breathe, she shot a weak wave of light energy at the clone in utter defiance before she crumpled to the ground. The clone smiled as he looked down at the lifeless girl, still draining her life away. __________________________________________________________________________ Darius groaned as he slowly sat up and pushed himself to his feet. His body ached from the force blast but he at the moment his only concern was stopping his clone. Glancing up, he felt his blood run cold as he saw his clone standing over Calista's motionless form as he still continued to suck the life from her. "Calista!" he cried, his voice thick with both rage and fury. “Leave her alone!” Darius thundered as he blasted his clone with a massive dark energy ball to stop his attack on the girl, his own attack now fueled by his anger. Without wasting a moment he began to drain the life of the clone, using his rapid drain on him much as he used the attack on Calista, now only wanting vengeance against the one who had harmed her.

The clone was tossed to the ground as Krystal in lion form pounced on it. He could feel his strength fading fast. Weakly he reached out and tried once again to drain Krystal. "No you don't." Darius muttered as he reached out even harder, sucking up more of the clone's strength, stopping him in his tracks before he got to far. "I will never forgive you for all you have done," Darius muttered, anger now blinding him as he continued to drain the clone until he fell unconscious below Krystal. Yet, even then he continued to drain him unable to get the faces of the new boy and girl, Krystal's injuries nor Calista's lifeless form from his mind.

Darius continued to drain his clone until he was sure he was dead. His injuries had healed thanks to the clone's energy that he had taken, but even then he wondered if it would be enough to help Calista. Darius nodded at Krystal who remained in lion form. "I'll be alright," he told her quietly, as if understanding what she had been asking. "You should rest as well," he told her, concern for the girl's well-being in his eyes. With that he turned and walked over to Calista. Lovingly taking the woman in his arms, he gently shook her as if trying to rouse her. "Calista, wake up," he whispered as he gently drew her limp body closer to him. “You can’t leave me,” he added. Tears formed in his eyes as he gazed upon her. Her complexion had the pale, waxy hue of one dead and for a moment he feared that she was. Laying her head tenderly upon his lap, he placed trembling fingers on her neck to check for a pulse. He felt relief course through him as he felt the weak beat of her blood beneath his fingers and noticed the slight rise and fall of her chest as she drew in weak breaths. Yet, this relief was short-lived as he realized how much she had been drained and he knew that if help did not come to her soon, she would soon be lost to him forever. So troubled was he now that he did not even notice Tess return with her critically wounded brother. With that he began to use his drain life ability on himself in an attempt to save hers.

"I don't know," Darius replied to Krystal's question as he glanced back down at Calista, his hand resting lightly on her forehead as he continue to pour his energy into her. He then nodded at Gambit before the mutant ran to the hole to check what had become of Jack. "But if she dies," Darius added. "heaven itself will not be able to save Jack from my fury," he muttered angrily. He would very well take his hate out on the clone, but it was already dead. Calista, please hold on. he thought silently as he glanced back down at the still girl in his lap again. He then turned towards Krystal, noticing how weak she was. "How are you?" he asked her in concern.

"No." Darius said to Krystal, quicker and sharper than he intended. "No," he repeated a little softer. "It could kill you." He drew in a deep breath then, refusing help for Calista tore at his soul. Nevertheless he could hear Calista's answer to Krystal's question in his mind as clearly as if she had spoken it. "Calista would not want that, and I could not live with knowing that I put someone else in danger." Darius continued to pour more of his energy into her as the moments ticked by them. After some time passed, Calista moaned lightly and her eyes slowly fluttered open as Darius's energy continued to flow into her. “Darius?” she asked as his face slowly came into focus. “Calista…” he whispered. She gave him a weak smile and then saw Krystal at his side. "Krystal? How are you?" she asked the girl before turning back to Darius, suddenly aware of the energy pouring into her. “Darius-please stop,” she begged weakly, realizing at once what he was doing. Darius only shook his head. “You are still extremely weak.” he told her gently, noting the pallor in her cheeks. With all the strength she could muster, she pushed his hand away, stopping the transfer. “Calista…” She gazed up at him, a wan smile tracing her lips. "I'll be okay," she protested weakly. "I-I deserved this," she whispered as she drew in an unsteady breath and then closed her eyes. "No." Darius told her gently. "You of all people did not deserve to suffer so." Sensing that he was losing her, he gently shook her. "Calista, stay with me." he told her softly as he began to pour energy into her again. Calista opened her eyes, and once again weakly broke the transfer. "No. I did deserve this. I disobeyed Gambit. He-he warned me to stay away, but I...I did not listen..." she said her voice trailing off as she looked away from them both. As she did so, in the distance she thought she the girl that was with them earlier leaning over the prone form of the boy she was with. "Darius-the boy..." she whispered weakly. Darius looked in their direction then, seeing at once the severity of Dan's wounds. "His wounds are serious, aren't they?" she asked faintly. Darius only nodded. "Go to him." Calista told him as she locked her gaze with his. "You are still weak yet, I can't leave you." Darius told her. "If you don't help him, he will die." she said quietly. "I deserved this for my folly. What wrong has he committed except being sucked into a battle not his own?" Darius glanced back at the girl and boy before he glanced back to her, not knowing what to do. Though she was now awake, he knew that her condition was still frail. "Please." Calista begged him. "Go to him. Right now, you are the only one here who can save him. If for no other reason, do this for me. I don't want to see an innocent die. I don't want that on my conscience too. Please..." she whispered, her voice trailing off again, the effort to speak greatly taxing her. Darius slowly nodded. With that he removed his jacket and holding her tenderly he gently put his jacket beneath her head to act as a pillow. “Thank you,” Calista whispered to Darius before her eyes fluttered closed and she slipped into unconsciousness again. Darius kissed her lightly on the forehead, worry written on his face before he turned to Krystal. "Please watch her," he requested of her. He then moved closer so only she could hear his words. "If she should worsen, let me know immediately." he said before he put a hand on Krystal's shoulder and then rose to his feet. With that he walked over to where Tess was wiping the blood from her brother. "Let me see his wounds," he told the girl as he came to sit beside her.
