A Strange Reunion

Carlet stood quickly confusion on her face, Derek! wait! she cried to him telepathic. Please stay for a little bit at least you've been gone so long you don't have to come back to the mansion but at least stay in the area... She looked down as she finished her plea...

[Derek_Volt]

Derek walked out of the coffee shop in a hurry blocking the voice in his head. He couldn't go back to the school, they would never allow him back. They would have no use to him, he was alone... nothing had changed... he would always be alone.

[ellie]

Carlet felt him blocking her voice.... she sighed and quickly followed him. He never had liked her "calming" but he wasn't going to just leave again without some trouble.
She stood on the street watching him. Her eyes closed as she concentrated. She smiled as she felt him relax more....
Now, come back here so we can discuss this like the adults we are! Her voice breaking through the walls in his mind a teasing edge to them.

Derek felt the calming effect cover his entire body. He closed his eyes slowly and took deep breaths. Breathe in... out... in... out.

A voice. What was it saying? It wanted him to go back.

He opened his eyes to reveal two bright blue orbs. Sparks flew from his eyes as anger filled him. "Get out of my head!"

[ellie]

Carlet felt him pushing against the calming but she only concentrated harder her hands raised without her notice.
"Derek!" She called through the space between them. The name hung in the air...
Let me help! she called to his mind....

[Derek_Volt]

"Stay out!" The dormant static in the air that was always surrounding Derek suddenly sprang to life. Lights from nearby buildings exploded, outlets shot out bolts of lightning as Derek charged himself ready to strike if need be.

Carlet dropped her force away from him and pulled it back into herself dropping the calm for raw anger. Her eyes closed as the wave rolled back to her. Her breathe caught then her eyes flashed open burning with anger and hate. Her muscles tensed for defense.
Her eyes flashed to Derek's, "Why?" she called her voice full of the anger she filled herself with. Never before had she turned her mood control in on itself....

[Derek_Volt]

"My mind is for me," as his rage grew his glowed a brighter blue, the electricity growing stronger around him, "Don't take what is mine." Quick as light he launched a powerful bolt of lightning aimed at Carlet.

[ellie]

Carlet moved slowly forward as he spoke then stopped when she saw the bolt. She raised her hand in a flash and caught the bolt through her uplifted palm her eyes never leaving his. Her expression showed no signs of pain from the lightening through it should have killed her.
"Then don't force me to search it!" Her voice was steady and peaceful yet her eyes burned with her passion.

[Derek_Volt]

Fueled with rage Derek put more force in the bolt. "I can't go back. Leave me alone."

[ellie]

Carlet still didn't react to the lightening that connected to her skin. Humans where beginning to notice the disagreement.
Her eyes grew darker with hurt and rage as her broken reply escaped her lips. "No!" She forced the bolt back at Derek though she knew it won't hurt him. Carlet's stance changed. Her eyes fluttered open and closed then reopened and locked with Derek's. She sent her pain back to him mentally causing him to feel the hurt of his words as well. She hit his mind again and again with the pain having it effect him.

[Derek_Volt]

Derek stopped the bolt as the pain came. He hung his head as tears stung his eyes. "I... I..." He stuttered as he tried to speak. "I'm..." Another voice inside.
Derek looked up his eyes glowing. "It's time to end this."
A sudden flash of lightning and he was gone.

[ellie]

Carlet's rage faded with a joult and she gasped as her hands flew to her face. NO! she cried out silently as her legs buckled and she hit the ground on her knees...

Rane was on her feet and out the door in a second, almost flying out of the mansion to find Carlet. She didn't notice anyone as she rushed out heading for her jeep....

[Derek_Volt]

"Where is she going in such a hurry?" Chris thought to himself as he came lower to get a better look. As he came closer to the jeep Chris lowered himself carefully and landed right into the open jeep. "Hey Rane!" He said with his usual bright smile, "Looks like your in a hurry."

Derek kept running till he came to the bank of a lake. There he collapsed. The pain returned.
The pain inside... the hurt... the voices... the memories. He could not handle it anymore, it was too much.

[ellie]

Rane through Chris an exasperated look and shook her head. The engine roared to life. Rane pulled out and drive quickly to the street where Carlet was. Rane quickly cut the jeep off and jumped out racing to her twin.
"Carlet?" her was think with panic as she knelt beside Carlet.

Carlet hear her name but couldn't focus all she felt was the pain of Derek's words and her own pain of attacking him. Her eyelids fluttered.
"No no no no no no no" she continued to murmur as she shook with sobs.
